2. Why Science Still Can’t Explain Oneness—But Is Trying
Nov 13, 2025Oneness practice is so effective—proven quietly and timelessly for thousands of years.
Yet I face a challenge:
In China, the tradition is simple:just practice. No lectures, no theories.
When you truly practice, the change speaks for itself—your family notices, your friends feel it.
Your health, peace, joy, and love radiate without a word.
But in the modern world, people ask for logic, science.
There are countless self‑healing methods, each with its own theory.
To translate ancient Taoist and Zen wisdom into Western logic—while keeping it 100% authentic—is not easy.
As my sensei Grandmaster Yu reminds me:
“LD, please don’t compromise our Oneness practice just to follow trends.”
So I search for scientific evidence.
I respect how modern science works—based on what can be observed and measured.
But here’s the truth: logic and fragmented research can never capture the full picture of wholeness.
Science is beginning to detect parts of it—changes in heart‑rate variability, brain waves, hormones.
Yet no MRI can detect a mother’s love.
No instrument can measure that surge of power when a woman lifts a car to save her child…
or explain how standing still can awaken healing, dissolve anger, and open compassion.
These are glimpses of something bigger—what we call Oneness.
Science is trying.
But your body already knows.
Keep standing, my friend. The rest will follow.
Why Science Still Can’t Explain Oneness—But Is Trying
-1 The Effectiveness That Can Be Measured—Partially
When you stand in the Oneness posture—head floating, chest open, pelvis gently tucked, knees soft—something begins to shift inside you.
Modern science is starting to describe parts of this shift. For example:
-
Cervical alignment (floating head) reduces strain on the spine and improves neural conduction speed.
-
Tongue on the roof of the mouth connects cranial nerves, feeding into the vagus system that governs rest and healing.
-
Soft gaze and diffuse listening calm the sympathetic nervous system and expand sensory awareness.
-
Smiling gently initiates a cascade of neurochemicals—dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin—that elevate mood and dissolve fear.
One by one, these seemingly simple physical cues are now being linked to profound internal changes in the body—lower blood pressure, better immune function, improved mental health, even faster recovery from surgery. And yet, they are only the beginning.
What we still cannot fully measure is what happens when all these elements combine—when body, breath, awareness, and stillness converge into a single state of being. That’s the moment Oneness begins.
